Orland School District 135 covers 25 square miles of southwest Cook County including most of Orland Park, a small part of Orland Hills, and much of the unincorporated land to the south and west. The district offers a comprehensive educational program to about 6,000 students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

There are four primary centers--Centennial, Center, Park, and Prairie Schools; three intermediate centers--Liberty, High Point, and Meadow Ridge Schools; and three junior highs--Century Jr. High School, Orland Jr. High School, and Jerling Jr. High School.

In Orland School District 135, instruction in the "basics" -- reading and language arts, mathematics, science and social studies -- is supplemented by visual arts, music, health and physical education. The district's computer science curriculum aims to create computer-literate learners by integrating computers, as a tool, into all academic areas.

The junior high program includes instruction in Spanish or German for all students. Intermediate and upper-grade students may participate in band, orchestra and choir. Our schools also offer children opportunities to broaden their experience and pursue individual interests through a variety of activities such as school newspapers, field trips, and other creative extensions of the curriculum. Junior high students are offered the opportunity to participate in interscholastic sports and academic competitions as well as many special interest activities.

All District 135 students are supported by auxiliary services including health care, speech/language assessment and therapy, counseling and psychology services, library-learning centers and bus transportation. A lunch program also is offered. Special education programs and services are available to serve the needs of District 135 children with disabilities from birth to age 15. Additionally, the district offers an enrichment program for students grades 2-8.
